The ability to lead and deliver projects, encourage initiatives, build a sense of common purpose, and empower others is what defines leadership skills.

People with leadership skills are also able to motivate employees towards the achievement of business goals, inspire them, drive change, and produce results.

2. Communication skills

Active listening

The act of active listening involves paying close attention to the speaker. The attention and respect that active listeners provide to others make them well-regarded by their coworkers. Despite its simplicity, this skill can be challenging to develop and improve. You can be an active listener by concentrating on the speaker, avoiding distractions like cell phones, laptops, or other projects, and preparing questions, comments, or ideas in advance.

Communicating in a manner that is appropriate to your audience

It is appropriate to use different communication styles in different situations. It is essential to consider your audience when using your communication skills.

It is better to send a formal email or call a potential employer if you are communicating with them. It may even be necessary to send a formal, typed letter over other forms of communication, depending on the situation. Communicating complex information at work may be easier face-to-face or through a video conference than through a long, dense email.
